VSonic RocksFantastic clarity with good bass...detailing is excellent...go for it...you will not be disappointed...

The Accurate SoundThe order was received well in time with good packaging, thank you HiFiNage for such awesome product and delivery. Now about the product: Accessories: 1. I got 4 foam tips with it with different colours, they blocked all the sound from outside, however, I prefer the double flange tips provided. 2. Clip for over the ear design, a shirt clip. Build quality: It feels sturdy and doesn't tangle at all, very good I must say. Isolation: It was mediocre with any tips other than foam tips but I listen to it at home so no worries. Sound: I did a burn-in of 100 hours before listening. The moment I put them on ears, my jaw dropped, the accurate fun sound that I was craving for years, it sounded like I am in the studio listening to monitoring speakers, great instrument separation and vocals were very lively. LOWS: The bass is enhanced, not by much but I must say very punchy and tight bass, it's in the place, very fun to listen to, has a good texture. MIDS: The mids of this IEM has good presence, a tiny bit fat excellent, just balanced and very lively. HIGHS: The lower highs don't shine as the lows and mids, the upper highs have ok sparkle, the 10khz is bumped up for presence in this IEM hence can be fatiguing for a long time listening, so I just tune it down a bit with eq and its perfect. This earphone has a slightly v-shaped signature which makes a very fun to listen to the sound, all in all, its super value for money, I never spent much money on a headphone, but after I put it into my ears I understood what I was missing, if you are reading this review and is a one who loves music to core depth, buy these!! These are amazing IEM's and worth every single penny. Grab it and show it off to your friends and watch their jaw-dropping LOL GO GRAB IT BEFORE THE STOCK ENDS!!!!!!!

Audiophile kill with a budget bullet*Keep in mind that this is my first neutral IEM. All my previous IEMs were V/U shaped. Treble I've always found the sharp treble to be off-putting. There is a (false?) sense of enhanced clarity that comes with the sparkly treble. But for me, the overall enjoyability dips. I'm amazed by how smooth the treble is on the RE-400. Some may like a little more sparkle, it is so perfectly where I want it to be. It may lack some bite with fast electronic music. I found no nasty peaks or dips. To me, the detail and clarity was eye-widening (considering my experience or lack thereof). Mids I was expecting to be impressed. But not blindsided like this. It felt like I had suddenly switched from 64kbps to a vinyl track. The first thing that struck me was how much more life-like it felt. The vocals had a certain texture. Simply put, if that texture was absent, the vocals wouldn't be as immersive. A striking feature was the depth to the vocals (not necessarily to the soundstage). It sounded wholesome(male and female alike). I'm finding this very hard to describe but I must persist, because its that important. I can gauge how much breath and effort the singer is taking. Apart from the core vocals, I hear a lot of nuances and details that contribute to that sense of completion. This particular feature impressed me the most in this IEM. Another thing I noticed is how untouched and unaffected the mids are. No matter how busy the rest of the spectrum gets, the mids always come through unadulterated. Like I had a separate pair of ears for the mids. And it seemed like the bass and highs complemented it nicely. Like they were all on the same plane of preference. Bass I will have to divide this segment into two. Initial impressions and Brain burnt-in impressions. Initial: Sub-bass was non-existent. Some tracks need that sub-bass to sound right. It adds to the natural, warm feeling. Sub-bass is more of a feeling than hearing. Tracks that had a strong mid-bass component were handled beautifully. I couldn't believe the detail and how fast it sounded. But I would have liked some more punch. Sadly the mids keep grabbing the spotlight, therefore, I didn't get to try many bass-heavy tracks. Brain-burnt in: Sub-bass still non-existent. But I found out that at high listening volumes the RE-400 extends pretty deep. So it is capable (which will come in handy later on). I feel the punch in the mid-bass now. And I find the quantity sufficient(not lacking) now. Surprisingly enough, I'm enjoying them immensely. I love the attack speed and detail. I want to say resolving but I'm not sure if it is the correct term. I'm quite stunned to find myself enjoying this type of bass. The initial disappointment only surfaces when I find the sub-bass lacking. ljokerl advised me to try a narrow lift of a few dB in the sub-bass. This improves presence without affecting the mid-bass. The RE-400 is a very capable IEM in this respect. The overall tonality has warmed and I'm not disappointed as often. I still find myself wanting a bit more presence but I don't think EQing it in is the answer. (Perhaps a vent redesign, dampers coupled with a sub-bass lift) Drums sound very natural (except the deepest reaching ones). It's easy to differentiate between the types of drums. The bass conveys that much detail. Bottom line: Bass enjoyment is very track subjective. EQing helps because the drivers are capable. Other miscellaneous ramblings: The soundstage isn't the widest. The Brainwavz R1 has spoiled me in this regard. But it isn't congested either. It conveys a good sense of space. Vocals can be very very intimate. And orchestras can be sufficiently spacious. No complaints there. All the music components are positioned and layered without any interference. I believe that is good "imaging"? Like I mentioned before, I sense an overall "completion" in the music. Vocals will have a "bass" component and a "lower highs" component in addition to the core "mid" component. The RE-400 delivers all of it in equal measure (just a tad more in the mids). I have observed that they sound even better at higher volumes (+1/2 dB above normal listening volume). I am curious as to how the RE-400 will perform when powered by a better source. That will have to wait as I don't have the resources 🙁 Some have reported good results by using dampers to add a little warmth and presence (even going as far as comparing it to the 400$ RE-600). I will try these mods later on.

Swans M200MKII ReviewI had been used to the sound of Creative EPs. But, lately, I began searching the market for something with a greater sonic signature. In all the HiFi forums I visited, this pair of speakers got rave reviews. So I decided to purchase them out of good faith. When they arrived, I found them to be quite heavy and somewhat large. In the manufacturer's site, it was mentioned that they had a burn-in period of about 100 hrs. After proper burn-in, I took a good listen to these babies and was immediately blown away by their output. The music I used to listen, had a new dimension added to them. The bass was punchy and authoritative, the mids were well projected and the highs were shimmering with detail. If you are used to listening to music from a cheapo, then the improvement in quality will be noticeable. I used some of my favourite songs for the benchmark in the sound test. I listened to Aphex Twin's selected ambient works for checking the bass. The bass was punchy and well projected. You could feel the beat. For mid-range, I listened to Johny cash, mark Lanegan, tina dico etc. All the finer details of their voice were well captured. For the highs, I played mogwai, godspeed and ulver. These acts are notorious for building dense soundscapes with wildly varying dynamics. Swans handled them pretty well. So, as you can see, the swans score in all departments. Be it clarity, isolation, soundstage...you name it and the swans will deliver it to you. If you are looking to begin your journey as an audiophile, then you need to look no further than this. My guess is, the babies will be the best VFM gadget that you will ever purchase in your life.

Speakers with an amazing clarity and customer serviceSound as we know is subjective and can vary from person to person, I had previously read that some people may not like the Swans m10 because of their low bass, But... listening to these speakers after some time of break-in I was amazed..! I put the bass to about 35% for music and that is enough. Quality-wise excellent at this price and even higher ranges(well maybe not higher range Swans speakers), amazing clarity with very good instrument separation. Looks-wise also very nice and also they are pretty loud(for me 1/4th volume is enough for my medium-sized room). The bass is not ground shaking type of and that is how I like it, not muddy at all. Songs of almost all genres sound really nice, Pink Floyd, Led Zep, Metallica, Nirvana, all sound brilliant. The only drawback I noticed was that the RCA to RCA cable could have been a bit longer. I especially would like to mention that the service of hifinage is superb, extremely helpful, quick and really friendly. Delivery took some time but that was due to the courier company. Final verdict: Best value for money object I've ever got.

VSONIC VSD1S: Kaboom for your buck: The all-rounder prodigy.A big thank you to Hifinage for binging Vsonic to India. Shipping was super-fast, decent pricing and pre and post-purchase customer care is top-notch. Build, accessories and comfort: The plastic housing is light and has a good feel to it, although the comic sans lettering is far from classy. The metal swivel nozzles ooze quality and the cable looks like it can take a beating. I must point out that despite their over-ear appearance, the VSD1/S is equally comfortable worn up/down. The light housing and swivel nozzles contribute hugely. Plus, they include ear-guides for those tricky situations. A decent number of tips are included with the VSD1S, that will tip roll you into a good fit. I particularly like the Vsonic foam tips. They are denser than comply memory foam tips but very comfortable. And unlike comply, they do not alter the sound(for me at least). One important thing to note is that the nozzle is thinner than most earphones, ruling out tip swapping from other earphones (unless they have a slim nozzle too) Microphonics: Cable down is below average and non-existent when worn cable up. I observed no driver flex whatsoever. Sound: Source: LG G2, Sansa Clip Zip, Asus Ultrabook. The VSD1S is easily driven to ear-splitting volumes and respond well to EQ. All tracks were >256kbps. The overall signature is V-shaped. But the V is not drastic and therefore plays well with all genres. The bass is bumped over neutral with good presence. Not very linear though, with a gradual boost up to the midbass before dropping in the lower mids. The sub-bass is felt at average listening volumes, has a natural decay and is of better quality (read: control) than the mid-bass. The midbass keeps things lively. However, the drop in upper mids is more evident as a result. The mids are not strictly recessed. They sit a row behind the ensemble and are sufficiently accurate and clear. The upper mids are gradually more emphasized (a trend which continues into the treble range). Female vocals are more intelligible than male vocals. In tracks that do not have much midbass presence, the mids really shine through and show how capable the VSD1S midrange is. Having read reports of sibilance on the GR07, I was pleasantly surprised to note that this wasn't a major issue on the VSD1S and was forgiving enough. Yes, the treble is emphasized, and on occasion does overstep the line, but only when the recording contains stressed TTT's or shhh's. In short, the VSD1S treble is not a deal-breaker. On the contrary, it made the IEM more enjoyable. The soundstage does not leave you wanting, with average depth and above average width. Stereo imaging is convincing and is helped further by high bitrate audio. This must give you a picture of what makes the VSD1S a great IEM. It is versatile. It has a V-shaped sig that has been flattened out a bit, allowing it to handle anything thrown at it with aplomb. Best IEM for the priceMy first impression on listening to these was "wtf???" The quantity of bass was much less than the SoundMagic E30 that I have. After a few days of (mental) burn-in, I started to really enjoy the RE-400. No, the RE-400 is not bass-weak. There is just the right amount of bass. The bass of RE-400 is quick, never misses a beat and has very good extension. It will still be lacking for bass heads, but in terms of quality, it's the best I've heard so far. My E30 now sounds bloated in comparison. The mids are the real strength of the RE-400, complemented by finely tuned treble. Overall, great balance. The presentation of the sound is excellent for the price. The RE-400 is moderately spacious and the positioning of the sound is very good. Instrumental separation is fantastic. Every song I throw at it is rendered with such effortlessness. The more I listen to it, the more I feel that this is the kind of sound that I have been searching for. With my other earphones I used to feel, "man, this song could sound so much better". With the RE-400, no more!
